COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update | 29th December 2020

Dear Cadet Parents/Guardians, Staff & Cadets,

We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic under the direction and guidance of the UK Government, NHS and other Public Health organisations. This page will update staff, cadets, and parents / carers of cadets if planned events and activities are to be postponed or cancelled as a result of any change in UK Government advice.

UPDATE – 29th December 2020

Updates are NOT currently being maintained on this page by the F&CCC management team. For F&CCC queries relating to the COVID-19 pandemic – including any impact on timetable, open/closure updates, related notices, etc. – you are advised to contact or instant message the Admin team who will be able to respond to your queries.

For COVID-19 infection related concerns, you should contact NHS 111 online. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For any medical emergency always dial 999.

Warm regards,
F&CCC Commandant
Major Brendon Cooney MBE

What can you do to reduce the risk of catching the virus?

There is currently no vaccine for COVID-19 but there are things you can do to protect yourself, others and help stop the virus from spreading further.

DO:

  • wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • always wash your hands when you get home or into work
  • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards
  • avoid close contact with people who have symptoms of COVID-19 virus
  • only travel on public transport if you need to
  • work from home, if you can
  • avoid social activities, such as going to pubs, restaurants, theatres and cinemas
  • avoid events with large groups of people
  • use NHS online services, telephone, or apps to contact your GP surgery or other NHS services

DON’T:

  • touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
  • welcome visitors outside of your support bubble to your home

If you think you have caught COVID-19, do not go to your GP surgery, a pharmacy or to hospital. Instead, call NHS 111, stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people.

The latest information on COVID-19 can be found here. Information about the signs and symptoms of COVID-19, how to reduce the risk of catching the virus and what to do if you feel unwell, is available on the NHS website. Both sites are updated regularly and will always have the best advice and guidance from medical professionals.
